The Milan City Council on April 2 unanimously approved three staff-recommended actions and authorized payment of $360,799.34 in bills and payroll.
Councilmember Kerkes moved to approve F&V’s proposal to sample and evaluate the city sanitary sewer system to attempt to identify the source of high CBOD (carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand) levels, for an amount not to exceed $30,300; Councilmember Stafford seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The action directs F&V to perform sampling and evaluation work intended to trace and diagnose elevated CBODs in the system.
The council also approved a two‑year contract with HydroCorp to institute and manage the city’s state‑mandated commercial cross‑connection control program, totaling $16,176. Councilmember Kofflin moved to approve the specifications and Councilmember Stafford seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
An added agenda item, the 2024 Agreement between the Milan Youth League and the City of Milan, was approved after a motion by Councilmember Stafford and a second from Councilmember Thompson; the motion carried unanimously.
Councilmember Stafford moved, and Councilmember Kerkes seconded, to approve bills payable and payroll in the amount of $360,799.34; the motion carried unanimously.
