Milan accepts IT director's retirement and appoints Hanna Massouh as new IT director

The Milan City Council on Feb. 6 accepted a letter of intent to retire from IT Director John Koehler and appointed Hanna Massouh as the new Director of IT Services, effective Feb. 11, 2024.
The acceptance of Koehler's retirement was included on the consent agenda and approved unanimously. The council then voted unanimously to appoint Massouh as director (motion by Councilmember Thompson, seconded by Councilmember Kerkes). City staff and council members thanked Koehler in the meeting minutes for his years of service.
City Administrator Jim Lancaster and other staff members publicly thanked Koehler; the minutes note the appreciation but do not record a detailed farewell statement. The minutes also show the council welcoming Massouh to her new role.
