Lake Stevens board approves consent agenda, adopts civility policy and OKs student travel

The Lake Stevens School District Board of Directors on March 12 approved a package of routine business items, adopted a new civility policy and authorized student travel to a national conference.
At the Educational Service Center, Director Paul Lund moved to approve the meeting agenda; Director David Iseminger seconded and the motion carried unanimously among those present. The board then approved the consent agenda on a motion by Director Iseminger, seconded by Director Vildan Kirby. The consent items included warrant numbers 316085–316267 totaling $1,271,427.89, payroll warrants 316028–316082 totaling $13,007,225.72, personnel actions, a co-curricular report and donations of $1,000 and $500 to district accounts.
Director Kirby moved and Director Lund seconded approval for Lake Stevens School District students to attend the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida, April 24–30, 2025; the motion passed unanimously among board members present.
The board adopted Policy No. 4161, Civility in the Workplace, on a roll-call vote after a motion from Director Lund and a second from Director Iseminger. The minutes record the adoption as unanimous among members present. The board also approved final acceptance of public works projects following a motion by Director Iseminger and a second from Director Kirby.
The board meeting record notes Director Nina Hanson was not present for the session; all recorded approvals are described in the minutes as unanimously approved by those in attendance. No further debate or public opposition was recorded during these votes.
