District previews 2025–26 budgets; superintendent recognizes Washington STEM Rising Star

Superintendent Dr. Mary Templeton offered a superintendent's update that included public recognition of student Harshita Simha as a 2025'26 Washington STEM Rising Star. Dr. Templeton read the congratulatory letter and praised Harshita's leadership in promoting inclusion and workforce diversity. Harshita briefly thanked family members and staff who supported her nomination.
Board members responded with congratulations and comments. Director Nina Hanson thanked donors and expressed concern about anticipated funding losses and the district's work to explore alternatives; Director Paul Lund and Director Vildan Kirby also offered praise for students and staff and thanked district leaders and negotiators for their work.
