At the March 10 meeting, a Land Records Office staff member, Franson, announced that Chief Deputy II Laurie DeMeyer has given notice of retirement. Franson requested that the Land Records Office immediately post a Deputy I position, transition the current Deputy I, Carrie Frye, into the Chief Deputy II role, and provide overlap training during the transition period to ensure continuity of operations.
Committee members voted to approve the overlap training and to forward the staffing request to the county executive committee for further action. The motion to approve overlap training was moved by Greg Oettinger and seconded by Chris Schultz and carried with members present voting yes.
The committee did not set specific hiring dates but instructed staff to begin recruitment and to coordinate transitional training; the action will be routed to the executive committee for final authorization.
