The Pennsauken Township Board of Education approved a set of personnel and program actions at its Feb. 17 meeting, including the employment contract for Anastasia Michals as Assistant Superintendent and the award of the district's before-and-after-care program contract to Right At School, LLC.
The board's addendum recommended and the board approved an employment contract for Anastasia Michals to serve as Assistant Superintendent effective March 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026; the agenda notes the contract was reviewed and approved by the Executive County Superintendent of Camden County in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:7-8(j). The agenda lists additional personnel appointments and reassignments across schools (examples include Martin Booker as a special-education teacher and Allison Gillis as a substitute school nurse), with start dates contingent on background and health clearances.
On child-care services, the board evaluated proposals for RFP #27-23 for the district's Before and After Care Program and awarded the contract to Right At School, LLC. The agenda includes comparative proposal summary data showing Right At School was judged the most advantageous based on price and other factors; the contract term is expected to begin on or about July 1, 2026 and run through the 2026-27 school year with renewal options.
Programmatic approvals included authorization to apply for the NJDOE High Impact Tutoring grant (award up to $200,000 to support tutoring for grades 3'8) and acceptance of IDEA 2024-25 carryover funds (IDEA Basic $70,103; IDEA Preschool $6,178). The board also approved calendar changes designating Feb. 17, 2026 as a school day for staff and students (previously a staff PD day) and moved the PD to June 18, 2026.
During the public-comment portion of the meeting Mat Sax, president of the PEA, thanked Dr. Bevere and the board for their support on staff issues; PHS alumnus Luke Angelino invited the board to alumni events. The meeting closed with routine reports and the board's adjournment at 6:56 p.m.
