Pennsauken board approves $1.17M payment for PHS magnet addition; district signs off on Chromebooks and other purchases

The Pennsauken Township Board of Education on Nov. 18 approved Payment Application #8 to Nacom Companies for $1,168,136.97 toward the Pennsauken High School Magnet School addition. The agenda notes a remaining balance to finish, plus retainage, of $7,390,028.56 for the project.
The board also approved procurement items on the consent agenda, including the purchase of 200 Chromebooks not to exceed $49,590 from CDW Government, Inc., and electrical and intercom supplies for multiple schools from Cooper Electric Supply Co. under a state-approved cooperative contract not to exceed $48,652.92, subject to fund availability.
At the meeting, Buildings and Operations committee chair Mr. Carey reported that the Magnet School project is about 37% complete and that the Baldwin School addition is about 12% complete. A separate Payment Application #3 for Pre-K addition and alterations at the Baldwin Early Childhood Learning Center to Arthur J. Ogren, Inc. for $661,616.62 was also included in the consent items with a noted balance to finish.
All items were approved as part of the board's consent motion covering agenda items 2–54 (motion by Mr. McDevitt; second by Mr. Alves). The approvals carry budget account references and retainage details in the official agenda and payment exhibits. The board did not provide additional public comment during the vote.
The district's next routine business meeting is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2025, where finance and construction updates may be revisited.
