Crawford County commissioners adopt resolution to vacate platted alley in Opolis

County Counselor Jim Emerson presented Resolution #2026-013 to the board and identified it as arising from a landowner’s request and consistent with the recorded plat. The board opened the scheduled public hearing and heard no public comment. On motion 26-140 by Commissioner Tom Moody, seconded by Commissioner Carl Wood, the board voted to adopt the resolution. Yeas: Commissioners Moody and Wood; Commissioner Blair was absent.
The matter was presented and decided during the March 20 meeting after the public hearing was opened (motion 26-138) and closed (motion 26-139). Emerson explained the resolution follows the plat record; he also told commissioners there was no opposition identified when asked by Commissioner Moody.
The action was recorded as Resolution #2026-013; the county minutes show the board approved the measure by roll-call style notation. No additional administrative steps or appeals were recorded in the minutes of the March 20 meeting.
The board recessed several times into executive session later in the meeting for non-elected personnel and attorney-client consultations; those sessions were recorded as having no action taken when the board reconvened.
