Pennsauken board notes Baldwin construction grant, approves multiple capital payments

The Pennsauken Township Board of Education on Monday approved a slate of capital projects and payment applications, and recorded a reported $7.6 million construction grant for Baldwin School as part of its new-business items.

Board members voted to approve business and finance agenda items that included the November bill list totaling $14,199,928.91 and several vendor payment applications for ongoing school facility projects. Payment Application #4 for the Carson & Franklin elementary HVAC project was listed at $117,031.00; Phifer Middle School HVAC Payment Application #10 was listed at $145,874.00; and Payment Application #3 for Longfellow Park improvements was listed at $446,414.00. The agenda also included Payment Application #8 for theatrical and house lighting replacement totaling $78,034.00.

The board packet also documented a Section 15 grant agreement for school facilities covering a roof replacement at the Baldwin School, Grant #G5-7053, with a grant amount of $548,280.00. A separate Baldwin construction grant of $7,600,000.00 was listed among new-business items noted during the meeting.

Procurement and contract approvals on the agenda included a recommendation to purchase student-transportation bus camera systems (four-year warranty and implementation) from Transportant not to exceed $198,323.00, and use of the TIPS cooperative contract for that purchase. The district also listed intent to participate in a national cooperative contract for technology products and services and a Canon managed print services contract for district printers.

All finance and capital items on the agenda were approved as presented. The vote records in the minutes show motions carried for agenda packages (business and finance items 44–59 and addendum finance items), with motions presented and seconded by board members in open session.
