The Sullivan County Commissioners on Feb. 24 unanimously approved a proclamation recognizing Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. The proclamation was read aloud by Lauren Edkin and Bethany Lambert of Sullivan County Victim Services.
Lauren Edkin told the board that Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) is active in county schools and that more than 700 prevention programs were presented last year to students in grades K–12. The Victim Services representatives urged continued attention to prevention and support services for students.
Commissioners approved the proclamation without opposition. The item was recorded as part of routine county business during the Feb. 24 meeting.
