Bedford County Salary Board approves multiple hires, names Treatment Court coordinator

The board recorded multiple hires at the county correctional facility (listed in the minutes as BCCF), including several new corrections officers with hourly rates ranging from $17.50 to $20.96 and notations that some employees completed required mental-health and cell-extraction training. Appointments in the sheriff’s office and 911 included new telecommunicators and deputy sheriffs; clerical and child-youth services positions were also included on the approved list.
The meeting also recorded the appointment of Ayme Eichenlaub as the Director of Elections at an annual, non-union salary of $50,000, effective Feb. 23, 2026. Court administration hires approved included Kassi Michael as jury coordinator/central court manager at $18.50 per hour and Jane Montgomery as full-time Treatment Court coordinator at $25.00 per hour, effective March 23, 2026.
Judge Travis Livengood said two employees were added to Treatment Court and that 80 applicants applied for the Treatment Court coordinator role; he summarized Montgomery’s credentials and noted that, with her five years of experience and an amended request that 80% of the position be covered by the Opioid reimbursement fund, the wage change was justified. Commissioner Winck thanked Judge Livengood for leading the Treatment Court effort and said the planning behind it was impressive and would benefit the county.
Procedural motions recorded in the minutes included approval of the Feb. 10, 2026 minutes and the motion to approve the March personnel and wage slate. Both motions carried. The board adjourned at 10:36 a.m.; the next meeting was set for April 14, 2026, unless called sooner.
