Waupaca County board backs WisDOT roundabout study after citing 29 crashes at USH 45/STH 15/CTH T

Supr. Dick Wengelski moved adoption and Supr. Peter Bosquez seconded; the motion carried without dissent. The resolution directs the county clerk to forward copies to Gov. Tony Evers, WisDOT leadership, area legislators and the Waupaca County Highway Commissioner.
County materials accompanying the resolution stress the recent development and increased traffic volumes at the intersection since construction of the New London Bypass in the early 2000s and point to the specific crash types (red-light running and failure to yield) as reasons a roundabout study could improve safety. The resolution does not allocate county funds for design or construction; it requests that WisDOT take the lead on study and implementation.
