The consent package also included Budget Ordinance Amendment #13 for fiscal year 2019–2020, which increases the General Fund appropriation for Building Improvements by $54,700 to fund the Charters of Freedom landmark project at Central and Main; a corresponding increase of $54,700 to Restricted Grants — Local was recorded as the revenue source in the amendment.
The tax collector reported that unpaid 2019 taxes will be advertised on April 8, 2020 as required by North Carolina General Statute 105-369. The council also approved a planning board appointment change (Tommy Wright moved from ETJ to a regular member; Ashley Avery recommended as ETJ appointee subject to Hoke County approval) and accepted an invitation for the March 5 groundbreaking for Freedom Park at Central and Main.
All consent items were approved unanimously. The budget amendment was adopted as part of the consent agenda; council records do not show separate roll-call votes for each consent subitem.
