Summary
After a public hearing and a unanimous Planning Board recommendation, Raeford City Council approved rezoning of a 1.09-acre parcel at 769 Lemont Drive from R-8 to RMH so Maurice and Shelby McDonald can place a double-wide manufactured home; no public comments were received.
The Raeford City Council unanimously approved a rezoning request on Dec. 7 to change a 1.09-acre parcel at 769 Lemont Drive (PIN 694241001018) from R-8 (Residential 8,000) to RMH (Residential Manufactured Home).
The request was filed by Maurice McDonald and his wife, Shelby McDonald, who sought the rezoning to permit placement of a double-wide manufactured home on the property. Code Administrator Felecia Locklear presented the staff facts to the council and reported the Planning Board met Nov. 30 and unanimously recommended approval. Locklear also said no one attended the Planning Board meeting to speak for or against the request, and the city had received no related emails or phone calls.
Mayor McNeill opened the public hearing and solicited comments; none were offered. Following the hearing, Councilman John Jordan moved to approve the rezoning and Councilman Robert Conoly seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The ordinance rezoning PIN 694241001018 to RMH was adopted at the Dec. 7 meeting.
