Lowest bid for Raeford wastewater plant rehab comes in over budget; council to seek additional funding

City Manager Dennis Baxley reported that bids were opened July 28 for Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Contract 2 and that Dillinger, Inc. of Monroe submitted the lowest bid at $4,730,000.
Baxley told the council the bids came in over the project budget and said staff would meet with State Revolving Loan staff to discuss options for additional funding. The manager also said paving on South Main Street related to recent stormwater construction should be completed within about two weeks.
No formal action was taken; the report was part of the Mayor and council reports section of the meeting.
