Lake Stevens board unanimously approves consent agenda covering warrants, payroll, personnel and donations

The Lake Stevens School District Board of Directors unanimously approved the consent agenda at its Jan. 15 regular meeting, voting to accept warrant and payroll listings, personnel actions, donations and final acceptance of listed public works projects.

Director David Iseminger moved to approve the consent agenda; Director Vildan Kirby seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The consent agenda included: Warrants Nos. 315119–315308 for $2,032,804.82; January 17, 2025 vouchers Warrant Nos. 315375–315531 for $754,886.58; payroll Warrants Nos. 315309–315371 totaling $13,084,166.08. The personnel report noted certified and classified hires including Matthew Palmieri (certified) and Krystopher Dupree (classified coach) and listed resignations and retirements as presented in the packet.

The board accepted donations including $20,885.82 from Stevens Creek PTA to Stevens Creek ASB for student recognition and activities; $1,000 from Lake Stevens Kiwanis to LSHS Key Club for conference support; $2,707.92 from the LSHS Purple and Gold Club/baseball to supplement uniform purchases; $10,008 from the Lake Stevens Education Foundation for Innovative Teaching and Learning Grants (distributed across five projects); and $500 from North Lake Middle School PTSA for the Invest Ed program.

Director Kirby later moved (seconded by Director Nina Hanson) to approve final acceptance of several public works contracts after Operations confirmed contractors met the contract documents and specifications. Projects include kitchen hood cleaning and inspection at six schools, electrical service installation for a new lift at Transportation, carpet and tile replacement at North Lake Middle School, dishwasher repairs, and security door repairs. The motions passed unanimously. No additional board action was taken on these consent items during the meeting.

The board then proceeded to superintendent remarks and program presentations.
