Lake Stevens board approves $790,106.25 in warrants, personnel actions and accepts public works projects

The Lake Stevens School District Board on Jan. 29 approved the consent agenda that included manual warrant payments totaling $790,106.25, personnel actions and several donations, and also accepted final public works projects for district facilities.

Director Nina Hanson moved to approve the consent agenda, which included approval of Warrant Nos. 315534 to 315685 totaling $790,106.25 drawn on the General, Capital Projects and ASB funds. Director David Iseminger seconded the motion and the board approved it unanimously.

The personnel report listed new classified hires (including paraeducators and food service staff), multiple certificated retirements with effective dates (for example, Robin Burns, Emily Davis and others listed) and resignations; Director Paul Lund abstained on approval of the Jan. 15 meeting minutes because he was not present at that meeting.

The board also voted to accept final public works project work after an Operations Department review of contractor adherence to contract specifications. Projects included replacing cabling on a web climber at Glenwood Elementary and installing a vehicle lift at the Transportation facility; routine service and repair items (HVAC service calls, door and exit device repairs, walk‑in refrigerator repair) were also listed in the board packet.

Donations accepted included $281.81 from Glenwood PTA to purchase a communication board for the Glenwood playground and $2,600 from a Purple & Gold donation to the Lake Stevens High School Key Club to assist with DCON conference expenses. The motions to approve the consent agenda and to accept final public works projects were moved and seconded and carried unanimously.
