The Lake Stevens School District Board of Directors unanimously approved a multi-item consent agenda at its Sept. 11 regular meeting.
Director Paul Lund moved to approve the consent agenda; Director Vildan Kirby seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The consent package included Warrant Nos. 313690–313837 totaling $3,054,721.89 and a Comp & Retail Tax warrant for $549.32. The board also approved August 2024 payroll warrants totaling $11,945,207.18 and a personnel report listing multiple certified and classified hires, volunteers, resignations and retirements.
The board approved an out-of-state trip for the Lake Stevens High School varsity volleyball team to compete in the 21st Annual Southern California Invitational in San Diego (Oct. 10–13, 2024). The consent agenda also accepted donations: Glenwood PTA donated $18,636.48 for new playground equipment; the Lake Stevens Education Foundation donated $3,000 for a Summer Art Connect program; and WMEA Music Matters donated $6,000 to support middle school music programs.
Board members subsequently approved three academic calendars (2024–25, 2025–26 and 2026–27) and accepted final completion of several public works projects after operations staff confirmed contractors met contract requirements. No dissenting votes were recorded.
