Sheriff reports software limitation, new tower approved; county explores land for new facility

Eggleston summarized incident counts for the month, including traffic stops, EMS and fire responses, assaults and an open criminal investigation involving a child. He told the court the sheriff's office currently uses Turn Key Mobile for video management but that the installed version does not allow selective redaction of footage; he said adding that functionality would cost $4,449.00. No procurement action was taken at the March meeting; the Sheriff presented the information for the court's consideration.
Eggleston also reported that a new communications tower on the county's east side has been approved and that the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission is awaiting funding to proceed.
Separately, Judge Dori Roots reported she had contacted local landowners about purchasing property in Lipscomb for a proposed sheriff's building; she has not been able to reach two of the four owners and will report back when outreach is complete.
No formal directive to purchase software or property was recorded; the meeting record shows the court received the report and will consider next steps in future sessions.
