Waupaca County board adopts county Land & Water Resource Management Plan

The resolution notes state statutory authority (Wisconsin Act 27 and Wisconsin Statute 92.10) requiring counties to prepare a plan that assesses water quality and soil erosion, sets watershed-specific water-quality objectives, identifies best-management practices, and lists applicable agricultural performance standards and prohibitions to control nonpoint-source pollution. The board record states the plan succeeds the 1999, 2006 and 2012 Waupaca County plans and "integrates all of the programs currently being administered by the Waupaca County Land and Water Conservation Department." The required public hearing was held July 19, 2021.
The resolution directs that implementation of the plan shall commence upon approval by the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Board. The transcript records the unanimous vote (27-0) to adopt the resolution; the county clerk certified the enactment on Aug. 17, 2021.
