County board hears reports, presents medal of gallantry and appoints Kristy Opperman as County Clerk

The Waupaca County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 18 received routine departmental reports, accepted presentations and approved an appointment to the County Clerk’s office.
Sheriff Tim Wilz presented the Citizen Medal of Gallantry to Karly Gonnering, Bryan Austin, Kelly Baehman and Teri Tyler. Anthony Snyder of the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board presented a letter of support for an Economic Development Administration Good Jobs Challenge Grant; the board approved Chair Koeppen signing the letter. Cindy Roloff and Craig Hokenstad presented the Veterans Service Office annual report; Michael Mazemke, Register of Deeds, provided an office overview and staffing update. Penny Tank presented the Extension Impact report.
On appointments, Supervisors voted to appoint Dennis Wengelski to the Nutrition Advisory Council and to the Committee on Aging; Wengelski abstained where required. The board also appointed Kristy Opperman as County Clerk for the remainder of the term, effective Feb. 26, 2022. The meeting concluded with routine correspondence placed on file and adjournment at 10:18 a.m.
