Mental Health Association tells county it is seeking office space and reports peer-support contract unused

Representatives of the Mental Health Association of Franklin and Fulton Counties briefed the Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 27, saying they are actively seeking office space within the county and distributed an informational handout describing services offered.

Carol Slemmer, the association’s Community Support Program Manager, and Scott Graham, Chief Executive Officer, told commissioners the organization provides multiple behavioral health services across the region and is looking for a local base of operations to improve access for Fulton County residents. "We are currently looking for office space in Fulton County," the group told the board, according to meeting minutes. Graham also noted that the county contract for Peer Support Services "is not being used," signaling a potential gap between contracted services and current utilization.

The meeting record shows the association provided a packet of materials to each commissioner for informational purposes; no formal request for funding or contractual changes was recorded during the session. The exchange was presented to commissioners for awareness during routine departmental meetings and no board action was recorded in the minutes related to leasing, contracting or program changes.
