HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. — Harrison County commissioners on March 2 approved flagged claims that allow annual $35,000 payments to multiple local fire districts once signed contracts are on file with the auditor.
Commissioner Brad Wiseman moved to approve flagged payments to Boone Fire District, Harrison Fire District, Heth Fire District, Posey‑Taylor Fire District, Palmyra Fire District, Webster Fire District, Whiskey Run Fire District, Blue River Township and Franklin Township; Commissioner Annissa Kellum seconded. The motion carried with a vote of 3 ayes and 0 nays.
County Administrator Chad Shireman later reported that he had updated the $35,000 annual agreements. Commissioner Wiseman moved to approve and sign the agreements outside of the meeting; Commissioner Kellum seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Why this matters: These flagged claims permit the county to release established annual fire protection payments once the contracting paperwork is complete, moving payment authority from a conditional line on the agenda to executed contracts on file with the auditor.
