The Milan City Council voted to approve bills and payroll totaling $773,145.15 at its Sept. 26 meeting.
Councilmember Nie moved to pay the bills and payroll as presented; Councilmember Thompson seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record the amount as $773,145.15 but do not break down line-item expenditures or identify which invoices are included.
During the same meeting Parks and Recreation Director Ellen Bell announced the final drive-in movie scheduled for Oct. 1. Main Street Director Jill Tewsley announced Octobeerfest on Sept. 30 and summarized building-improvement activity in the downtown district. Councilmember Kofflin reported the results of "Recycle Days": 171 residents participated and the minutes record 12.4965 tons collected; the minutes also show an overall total written as "16 49 tons," which appears to be a transcription anomaly and is noted here for clarity. Mayor Ed Kolar reported ongoing wastewater brick-wall issues and newly identified needs at the Fire Department building that will require attention.
The minutes do not attach supporting documentation for the bills, the recycling totals, or repair cost estimates. The council set its next regular meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, and adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
Next steps: staff follow-up on facility repairs and publication of bills/payroll backup documentation was not recorded in the minutes.
