New superintendent outlines 90-day entry plan, highlights community outreach and bond engagement

Dr. Mary Templeton, who serves as the Lake Stevens School District Superintendent and Board Secretary, used her Aug. 7 update to outline an entry plan focused on listening in her first 90 days on the job. "My primary focus during these 90 days is to listen, learn, and then ask questions," she said.
Templeton described recent outreach at community events including Aquafest, where she met Lake Stevens Police Department staff and the historical society, and weekly appearances at the Farmer's Market where district staff and volunteers share information about a bond measure. She said she has been visiting district properties and schools and plans a bus ride-along in September to better understand transportation operations.
Student Advisory Council officers thanked the board and noted recent student and alumni events; SACo President Riley Boerger invited board members to a drama alumni performance of The Little Mermaid at the PUD Theater. Board members also encouraged community participation at the Farmer's Market and thanked staff and students for their engagement.
