Main Street director announces new downtown businesses; council commends Eagle Scout project

Milan Main Street Director Jill Tewsley told the council that Paper Moon has moved into the former Fountain Optometry building and that Fudge Beauty is sharing space with Ink and Dye, and she said several other new businesses are coming to downtown Milan.
Councilmembers and the mayor recognized volunteer efforts downtown and publicly commended Scout Noah Douglas for his Eagle Scout project to place trail markers and a permanent trail map sign in Tolan Square and city parks. Multiple councilmembers (Wayne, Nie, Kerkes, Thompson, Baldwin and Kofflin) and Mayor Ed Kolar thanked Noah for raising funds and organizing the project and thanked Milan Main Street and other volunteers for downtown activities, including a Santa event.
The minutes record Dave Snyder spoke on behalf of Milan Main Street earlier in the meeting and that the council approved related resolutions supporting Milan’s Main Street efforts.
The Eagle Scout project is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., according to the consent item approved by the council.
