Waupaca County's Board of Supervisors on Jan. 19 amended the county traffic code to require ATV and UTV operators using routes that are portions of roadways to observe posted roadway speed limits.
The ordinance amendment (Chapter 7, Traffic Code 7.14 D(1)) states that all ATV/UTV operators on roadway portions must observe and comply with posted roadway speed limits. The ordinance takes effect upon enactment by the County Board; the text cites Section 59.14(1) of the Wisconsin Statutes for town implementation procedures.
Supervisor Pete Bosquez moved the amendment and Supervisor Lee Much seconded. The motion carried; Supervisors Jaeger and Ritchie were recorded as opposed. The minutes record the amendment as passed on Jan. 19, 2021.
