Pendleton County health officials report about 57% of residents received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose

Hedrick reported two cases among fully vaccinated residents; both tested positive but showed no symptoms. She said there have been seven county deaths attributed to COVID-19 as of the meeting date. Health staff also told the commission that the county currently has more vaccine doses available than people requesting vaccination.
The update said there have been no cases of the new viral strains in Pendleton County to that date. Hedrick and Reel urged residents to continue standard public-health precautions and noted the health department is monitoring trends that could affect local guidance or vaccine outreach.
The health department’s figures and the remarks were delivered during the commission’s regular meeting; no formal action was taken on the report. The county will continue local monitoring and outreach efforts as case counts evolve.
