FULTON COUNTY — The Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 30, 2025, to approve two amendments to the Bedford Fulton Joint Recreational Authority’s articles of incorporation and to appoint a new member to its board.
Representatives of the Bedford Fulton Joint Recreational Authority (BFJRA) — Matthew Wakefield, Paul Johnston and Eric Weisbrod — requested two resolutions: Resolution 9 of 2025 to increase the number of board members and Resolution 10 of 2025 to authorize the authority to appoint police officers who would have the same rights as other Commonwealth police officers with respect to the authority’s property. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute both resolutions; the motions were recorded as approved with all commissioners voting in favor.
The board then approved a motion by Commissioner Wible to appoint Craig Cutchall to a one-year term on the BFJRA, with the term expiring Jan. 3, 2027. The appointment was recorded as passed unanimously.
The resolutions change the BFJRA’s governance structure and explicitly authorize the authority to establish police officers with property-related police powers; the transcript records approval but does not include implementation details such as dates for any recruitment of local officers or drafting of enabling documents.
