Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase

FULTON COUNTY — The Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted a balanced 2026 budget and approved a tax levy resolution on Dec. 30, 2025, keeping county tax rates unchanged for the coming year.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor. Reed told commissioners there had been no changes to the advertised budget since public notice was issued.
The board also approved Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution for fiscal year 2026, explicitly noting there would be no increase in county taxes. Commissioners recorded unanimous approval.
In administrative business tied to county finances, the board approved accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (General Fund $98,764.92; Debt Service $14,148.95) and accepted the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
The board’s vote concludes the formal adoption process; the commissioners noted the budget will move forward as presented and that any implementation steps will be handled by county administrative staff.
