Fulton County commissioners on Feb. 24, 2026, approved a proclamation declaring March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and commended the observance to county residents.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve the proclamation; the motion carried unanimously. Commissioners met with representatives from local service providers and advocacy organizations — including Occupational Services Inc., CRI, Full Circle Residence, Lupey Behavioral Services, Fulton County Human Services and The Arc of Franklin/Fulton Counties — for the signing and a group photograph.
The proclamation states that Fulton County becomes a stronger community when people with and without disabilities come together and urges citizens to recognize the month. No formal policy changes or new funding were recorded in conjunction with the proclamation; it serves as an official observance and public recognition by the board.
The board’s approval was procedural and unanimous. The county indicated no additional follow-up actions beyond the ceremonial signing.
