Michael Gallups, president and CEO of the MetroCrest Area Chamber, told Carrollton’s council on Feb. 3 that the chamber has rebranded to MetroCrest Area Chamber to reduce confusion about its scope and to modernize its logo and color scheme.
Gallups said the chamber still serves Addison, Carrollton and Farmers Branch and has more than 500 member businesses, with Carrollton representing roughly 37% of membership. He outlined programming priorities—small-business support (two monthly lunch-and-learns), workforce development partnerships (including a planned state-of-education event with local superintendents), and regional advocacy—and said the rebrand is intended to improve clarity for members and regional partners.
Councilmembers asked how success will be measured; Gallups said metrics will include public reaction, increased awareness and membership growth. He also described the recent merger of Farmers Branch Chamber membership into MetroCrest and noted a task force and board input guided the rebrand.
Mayor and council thanked Gallups for the update and noted opportunities to collaborate on events and member outreach.
