The Laconia School Board voted unanimously March 17 to authorize the disposal or donation of outdated math textbooks from Laconia High School after staff reported outreach to neighboring districts found no takers.
During discussion, Superintendent Amy noted the high school had asked neighboring districts about interest in the materials but "so far we have not had any takers," and that, under district policy, the board must approve disposal or donation. A motion to "authorize the disposal or donation of outdated math books from Laconia High School" was made, seconded, and approved on a recorded vote of seven to zero.
Board members then moved to enter a nonpublic session "for a legal update" under the statutory reference read aloud in the meeting (transcribed as "RSA 91 A32L"). The motion to go into nonpublic session was seconded and approved; the board left public session at 7:18 p.m.
Minutes show that while in nonpublic session the board considered personnel matters and approved a resignation letter with an effective date stated in the transcript as June 30, 2022. The board returned and adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
Superintendent Amy and facilities and budget committee members also reported committee-level updates earlier in the meeting, including: a Budget & Personnel work session reviewing the 2026–27 budget for middle and high schools and the Hewitt Career Technical Center and noting 3–4 applicants for the business administrator post; Facilities reported two quotes for Pleasant Street roof replacement and will ask the director to provide the quotes; Policy and Strategic Planning committees reported scheduling updates. These committee updates were for information and did not result in board action at the meeting.
