Another commenter (speaker 21, who referenced budget documents) said the sanitation fund showed reserves and asked why the $10/month figure equated to $731,000 when deficit figures were smaller.
Council debated alternatives — outsource services, include the question in the budget process, or keep services funded by the general fund — and ultimately moved to table the ordinance until the first budget discussion. The motion to table passed by voice vote; council scheduled the issue for the next budget session.
