Pine Village Fire Department seeks county help to pursue OKRA grant for station expansion

According to her account, Round 2 of the OKRA grant opens in September 2026 and can provide up to $750,000 with a required 10% local match that the department would fund. She said the department would proceed with preliminary drawings and cost estimates and that a grant writer will attend the next commissioner meeting to explain the application process.
Commissioners and staff discussed the request but did not take final action on March 2; they agreed to invite a grant-writing representative to a future meeting to outline next steps. The county’s role would be a formal applicant with Pine Village as a subrecipient if the board decides to proceed after the grant-writer presentation.
