The Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee voted unanimously to approve a slate of the governor’s appointments and to report the nominations favorably to the Committee on Rules and Reference.
At the committee meeting the chair called members’ attention to a list of nominees and their intended bodies; the clerk had provided materials to members in advance. The list included Daniel Bullen for the Advisory Council on Amusement Ride Safety; Robert L. Davis for the Waterway Safety Council; Leah C. Dorman, Bradford L. Garrison, Kath Ann Kress, and Cole R. Luthman for the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board; Howard J. Foster and Matthew S. Kelly for the Ohio Expositions Commission; Ray A. Hepner, Andrea Miller, and Susan M. Chorupski for the State Veterinary Medical Licensing Board; and Nathan Leggett for the Reclamation For Overture Fund Advisory Board, among others.
With no appointees present to speak, a vice chair moved that the committee approve the governor’s appointments and report them to the Committee on Rules and Reference. The clerk called the roll and the committee recorded a 6-0 vote in favor. The chair said the committee would hold a roll-up until 5:00 p.m. and then report the approved slate to Rules and Reference.
The committee’s action was procedural: the committee does not appear to have taken up individual nominees for separate votes or hearings and no amendments to individual appointments were recorded. The matter will now proceed to the Committee on Rules and Reference for further processing.
