The Wynne School Board on Jan. 28 unanimously approved a slate of personnel recommendations and extended Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Moore’s contract through the 2029 school year.
The board accepted recommendations for classified and licensed hires, changes in duties and contract days, and several resignations. Classified hires included Garrett Sherman for high-impact tutoring districtwide (effective Jan. 15, 2026); other personnel actions included moving Monica Van Zyl from a 205-day to a 240-day secretary contract and changing Leslie Young from 185 to 195 days. Licensed changes included an adjustment for Elizabeth Jordan to a 240-day contract for the 2026–27 school year. Several resignations were recorded with effective dates provided in the minutes (for example, Jennifer Wilson, SPED Intermediate, effective June 30, 2026; Crystal Murphy, SPED Primary, effective Jan. 5, 2026). The minutes state that employment is contingent on receipt of clear nationwide criminal-record checks and Child Maltreatment Central Registry checks as required by state law.
A motion to accept all employment recommendations was made by Mrs. Teresa Dallas and seconded by Mr. Spencer Parker; the motion passed unanimously.
The board then discussed extending Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Moore’s contract through the 2029 school year with compensation “as written” in the presented contract. A roll-call vote was recorded as unanimous: Mrs. Stacie Schlenker — Yes; Mr. Spencer Parker — Yes; Mrs. Leanne Lovell — Yes; Mr. Michael Hirons — Yes; Mrs. Teresa Dallas — Yes.
The board set its next regular meeting for Feb. 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.; the meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
