Jones County sells tax-foreclosed lots to local buyers; court rescinds three prior bids

Commissioner Lonnie Vivian moved to accept a bid from Kelly Williamson for two parcels (Jones CAD R15544 and R20305) for a combined $2.00; Commissioner Roy Spalding seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The court waived court costs for that sale.
The court also approved a bid from Cody Jordan for 19 parcels in Stamford (addresses and Jones CAD IDs listed in court exhibits) for a combined $19.00. Commissioner Roy Spalding moved the approval; Commissioner Lonnie Vivian seconded and all commissioners voted aye. The clerk recorded the parcel list as Exhibit B.
Separately, Commissioner Lonnie Vivian moved to rescind previous bid approvals from the Dec. 22, 2025 meeting for parcels R23345 and R23372 (bids by Ian Pitts) and R24033 (bid by Amber Benavides); Commissioner Roy Spalding seconded and the motion to rescind carried unanimously.
Court minutes state that court costs were waived for the approved sales. The court referred to exhibits for full parcel descriptions and legal descriptions. No public comment or debate on the bids is recorded in the minutes. The actions are recorded as accepted and documented in the meeting exhibits.
