Board approves distribution plan for Section 27L educator compensation funds

Board member Hart moved and Courtade supported a resolution to distribute Section 27L educator compensation funds to eligible Kenowa Hills employees; the board approved the motion unanimously, 7-0.
The approved plan directs that all regularly scheduled, permanent full-time and part-time Kenowa Hills employees who are actively on the payroll at the time of distribution and who have been continuously employed since at least Oct. 1, 2025, will receive an equal gross amount. The board specified that distributions are subject to all applicable federal, state and local tax withholdings. The action excludes third-party employees, athletic coaches, substitutes, temporary employees, interns, consultants and the superintendent.
Director Horner had presented an overview of how and to whom the 27(L) funds would be distributed during the Human Resources report. The board recorded the funding distribution in Report #26-029; the motion was made by Board member Hart and supported by Courtade.
