Caribou County engages Polder Mapping for 12-month GIS services contract

Commissioners approved contracting with Polder Mapping to provide GIS services on a 12-month term at the March 9 meeting. Tom Calton of Polder Mapping explained the proposal is intended to support the county’s NextGen efforts and to assist during an internal transition; he said the contractor would not take over assessor parcel mapping but would provide remote support, help negotiate ESRI pricing and operate a ticketing/onboarding system.
Commissioner Bryce Somsen moved to accept the proposal pending contract terms; Commissioner Mark Mathews seconded, and the motion passed. The Board then approved a 12-month contract with renewal options and either party authorized to terminate with 30 days’ notice.
Calton said the work would be largely remote and that the firm would dedicate several hours each week for continuing NextGen and support tasks. County leaders emphasized the need for a smooth transition and for retaining existing login access for staff who currently use GIS systems.
