The Cameron County Commissioners voted Jan. 22, 2026, to release a request for proposals for county cleaning services after discussing updates to the current contract’s schedule and employee-requested adjustments.
Commissioner Herzing opened the subject for discussion. Commissioner Moate moved to release the RFP for advertising, and Commissioner Zucal seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The county will advertise the solicitation in local newspapers and accept proposals through Feb. 19, 2026, so submissions can be reviewed at the commissioners’ final meeting in February.
Staff drafted the RFP language to reflect the existing cleaning schedule and several specific area updates requested by county employees. The board did not take further action beyond authorizing the release and publication of the RFP.
