School board honors Bronco Leadership Code students; Mustang High names National Merit semifinalists

The board meeting included a superintendent-led presentation recognizing students chosen as Bronco Leadership Code recipients from elementary through high school.
"Each month we have the privilege of recognizing students for a program that we call our Bronco Leadership Code," the presenter said, explaining the program rewards leadership, effort, attitude, dependability, enthusiasm, respect, service, honesty, integrity and perseverance. The presenter read citations for recipients from Centennial, Lake Houma, Mustang Elementary, Prairie View, Riverwood, Sunset Hill, Trails, Valley, Canyon Ridge, Horizon Intermediate and Meadowbrook and invited families forward for photos.
From Mustang Elementary the presenter recognized Isaiah Summers for effort; other named students included Arizona Settliffe (Centennial), Parks Walkabout, Livy Nunez, Renata D'Lora Martinez, Jax Haney, Emma Codeponi, Silas Bailey, Hector Galvez Castro, Ariana Teague and Khalil Bowens.
A Mustang High School representative announced four students named semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. "On behalf of Mustang High School, I'm proud to recognize four outstanding students who have been named semifinalists," the presenter said, identifying Andrew Dravenstott, Jackson Faught and Angelina Pham; Avery Vascolero was named but was absent.
The board's recognition ceremony combined classroom nominations and school-level citations to highlight academic and character achievements. No formal board action was taken on these presentations. The meeting then proceeded to routine reports and consent business.
