Mustang board honors student leaders and state-champion teams

The superintendent’s report recognized dozens of students for traits such as enthusiasm, integrity and perseverance and celebrated Mustang High School softball and cheer teams for state championships.
During the superintendent’s report, board presenters recognized students from Mustang-area elementary, intermediate and secondary schools for character traits including enthusiasm, integrity, respect, dependability, attitude and perseverance.
Stacy Edwards and Ryan McKinney read nominations from teachers and called students to the front to receive certificates; parents were invited to take photographs after the group presentation. Students honored included Amara Van Gundy (Centennial Elementary), Quentin Harris (Creek Elementary), Asher George (Lake Houma Elementary), Cora (Mustang Elementary), Ruby Van Cleave (Prairie View Elementary), Isaac Lechlider (Riverwood Elementary) and multiple middle- and high-school honorees.
Athletic Director Robert Forman praised the Mustang High School Lady Broncos softball team and the competitive cheer squad for winning state titles, read team rosters and noted postseason honors for individual players and coaches. "Ladies and gentlemen, your 2025 Fast Pitch Softball State Champions," Forman said as he presented rosters and season statistics, including a 32–3 record and the state championship game scoreline.
Board members and the superintendent joined presenters in congratulating the students and coaches; no formal board action was required for the recognitions.
