"The goal is to keep it a preserve and keep it as natural as possible, for that passive recreation use," the mayor said.
The mayor framed the initiative as responsive to several years of resident feedback captured in the city’s community survey, which prioritized land preservation. Council members and staff praised the winter workshop and the opportunity to showcase acquisitions and ongoing projects.
