The Splendora Independent School District Board of Trustees on Dec. 15 voted unanimously to purchase new security cameras for district campuses, approving a $101,456 contract with NextGen Security, LLC through TIPS Contract #250106. The cameras are slated for Peach Creek Elementary, Timber Lakes Elementary, the Coleman 6th Grade Campus, the district DAEP, Splendora High School, the Ag Barn, the administration building and Splendora Junior High.
Trustee Barry Welch moved to approve the purchase; Trustee Dan Muirhead seconded the motion. The board recorded a 6–0 vote in favor with Travis “Doc” Jones, Kimberly Klepcyk, Dan Muirhead, Jennifer Stewart, Barry Welch and Allen Wells voting yes.
