Committee seeks clearer signs and bollards after cars drive on paved trail

One member described stopping a driver who appeared "oblivious" that the paved route was a trail and said the existing sign placement is back far enough that construction debris makes the route look like a work site. Members recommended adding reassurance signs with arrows, and several suggested reinstalling bollards or a boulder to physically prevent vehicle access.
The chair said the trail is private property with a public easement and that staff will follow up with Ami Ali on signage options and with property owners about barriers. The committee also noted the next batch of trail signs (Pine Canyon and River Road) is scheduled to be installed starting next week; members agreed additional temporary signage could help while nearby construction is active.
Separately, the committee raised downtown safety concerns where parking near the 200 West stretch intrudes into the bike lane on busy weekends; members recommended additional no-parking signs and repainting the bike lane markings to improve visibility.
Staff will investigate reinstalling physical barriers and will consult with property owners about bollards or other measures; no formal enforcement action was taken at the meeting.
