Board approves loading zone outside Playmore Lanes on Ferry Street

The La Crosse Board of Public Works approved a finding of order Nov. 10 to establish a loading zone at the north side of the 400 block of Ferry Street after a staff presentation.
Jackson, an engineering staff member, said Playmore Lanes asked that the north side of its property be designated a loading zone to accommodate frequent large deliveries. Council President Dickinson confirmed the existing curb space was unrestricted public parking and asked whether the proposed zone would carry a 15-minute limit for loading; Jackson confirmed it would.
The board moved to approve the finding of order and voted unanimously to establish the 15-minute loading zone. The action is intended to reduce delivery conflicts for the business and clarify curb controls on that block of Ferry Street.
