RDA approves MSP planning option agreement after removing 60‑day rendering requirement

A staff member noted MSP requested removal of a 60‑day requirement for returning renderings to the authority because MSP plans to wait for its market study results before finalizing renderings. “They just ask to, remove that that 60 day requirement, and I'm supportive of that,” the staff member said.
MSP representative Brian said the market study is already under way and that the firm expects the study results by December; he told the board that, "it's probably 60 days from the time we get the market study back, but we won't have the market study until the December. So it's probably, you know, best case, it's February."
Members discussed setting a target month for drawings and agreed April would provide staff and MSP extra time. A committee member seconded a motion to accept the planning option agreement pending the adjustments discussed, and the motion carried on a voice vote.
The motion accepted adjustments to the option agreement as discussed; the RDA chair declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned. The RDA will continue coordination with MSP on the market study and subsequent renderings.
