Steering committee highlights youth climate awards and local sustainability projects

Natalie provided updates from Habitat and Renew the Block: plantings, home repairs and a Pave the Way fundraiser selling permeable pavers to support stormwater mitigation at a local school; Habitat will begin two homes in the Washburn neighborhood in 2026 and community garden plots will be reinstalled by 3 60 Real Estate with Habitat supporting management.
Committee members praised the youth projects’ reach and encouraged continued pursuit of grants and support to sustain those programs.
