Sevier County Commission approves routine items, OKs forensic interview agreements and surplus disposals; takes no action on Flat Canyon purchase

The Sevier County Commission used much of its Dec. 8 meeting to approve routine business and contracts.
Commissioners approved the minutes from the Nov. 24 worksession and commission meeting on a motion by Commissioner Ralph Brown, seconded by Commissioner Greg Jensen, and approved the Payment Approval Report for November on a motion by Commissioner Greg Jensen, seconded by Commissioner Ralph Brown; both motions passed unanimously.
County Attorney Casey Jewkes reviewed three Forensic Interview Services Agreements intended to support interviews for the Children's Justice Center; Commissioner Greg Jensen moved to approve the agreements, Commissioner Ralph Brown seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The agreements were described as support for Children's Justice Center interviews; the contracts themselves were not appended to the recorded minutes.
Executive Director Malcolm Nash reviewed a proposed purchase agreement for property in the Flat Canyon area and raised concerns about water and mineral rights; the commission took no action on that purchase.
The commission also reviewed department requests to surplus personal property items; Commissioner Greg Jensen moved to declare the items surplus and authorize their disposal, Commissioner Ralph Brown seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 1:55 p.m.
